The MTC is awesome! I love it here so much! Its just the greatest! The spirit here is so stong and is with us always! I can't believe that it is already my preparation-day! Time is flying by already! My companions, yes companions, we are a tri-panionship! Haha, Elder Williamson is from West Point, Utah, and Elder Mcclellan is from Illinois! They are really great! I prayed forever that i would be blessed with good companions and i am so greatful for them! We each bring something to the table and are doing pretty well at teaching! We are a part of a "pilot" program that Elder Holland put in place! Its really intense, we are 3 out of 50 something districts that are in the pilot program! The new program changes how we teach "investigators", now we teach investigators the second day here! I was so nervous when we taught our first investigator haha because it was a full on lesson almost exactly like you would have to teach one out in the field! Its amazing how the spirit here helps, the first few lessons have gone great and now we are going to start teaching them on a reacurring basis! Its crazy how much the spirit helps us retain here! I was nervous about being able to focus in all of the classes we have everyday but Heavenly Father helps soo much with us! I am amazed when we teach a lesson the things that come out of my mouth, because i thought that i had totally forgotten it! The presence of the spirit here is amazing and i will be sad to leave!
Funny story on the first night here we were getting a tour of the campus from our zone leaders, and we were walking outside to the next building! While we were walking i was looking down at the classroom that was below the height of the class because the teacher was yelling stuff in Japanese and it looked funny! So as i am staring down there......i walk straight into a pole!!! Haha i really dont think that i have ever laughed that hard! The whole district was about to die! Too funny. Yesterday i was called to be a Zone Leader! My companions and i are over the three districts in our zone! It has been a great experience already! We have a new district coming in on wednesday so that will be fun!
On Sunday we had the best lesson from our branch presidency! He was taught us about trying to not be too hard on ourselves! He said to never think "could i should have yesterday today?" Becuase it is not possible to go back earlier in the day or to the previous day and fix that day! Be happy with our lives and the things that we accomplished in the day! Everything happens for a reason, we need to stay positive and remember that heavenly father wants us to be ourselves, because thats who he loves! He didnt call me to be a missionary only for me to come out here and wish i was as good as another missionary or dream up some other person in our head that we want to be! Thats not who heavenly father wants us to be!
Thanks to everyone that has sent me dear elders or letters! It has been so uplifting and i appreciate it! Dearelder.com is amazing because we get those letters everyday! So its great to here about your lives before i go to bed! Thank you for all your prayers they have helped so much! I feel your love and prayers everyday!
On the way to the MTC on wednesday we were rear ended! Only that would happen to me i know haha but really! So we ended up being an hour late to the MTC! Everything turned out great though and my companions have been so great! My neck is feeling much better! The first night was really hard to sleep with the aches in my neck but i am feeling so much better now! I love this gospel with all of my heart! Its just the best thing in the world! I love you all and miss you more than you know! Peace and blessings from Elder Aiken.
